HTML, CSS and Web Standards. What more could you want?!

I wrote this post a while back. The content can still be relevant but the information I've linked to may not be available.

HTML and CSS Web Standard Solutions Whilst searching Amazon for books about CSS [as you do], I came across HTML and CSS Web Standards Solutions: A Web Standardistas’ Approach by Christopher Murphy and Nicklas Persson. I must admit I have not seen this book before and it looks like one that I should have in my collection.

The book is from Friends of Ed who normally publish very good web design and development books. I have a few other books from Friends of Ed and they are well worth it.

This book will teach you how to build hand-crafted web pages the Web Standardistas’ way: using well-structured XHTML for content and CSS for presentation. By embracing a web standards approach, you will hold the key to creating web sites that not only look great in all modern browsers, but also are accessible to a wide variety of audiences across a range of platforms.

Exactly. I think I might use this quote when introducing CSS and web standards to my occasional Dreamweaver students. The learning curve is tough sometimes and it is not always easy to explain why the hard work will be worth it in the end.

Buy the Book: You can buy the book from Amazon UK or Amazon US.
