After hearing about Microformats in the lunchbreak at d.Construct 2006 last month, I'm looking forward to the Web Standards Group London meeting with a Microformats theme on 19th October. The meeting promises three excellent speakers and I'm sure I'll know a lot more about Microformats by the end of it.
The goal of these Web Standards Group events is to promote web-standards in such a way that attendees will go away having learnt something, or be inspired to create something great using web standards, whether they are seasoned standardistas or just starting out.
The London WSG meetings are a recent addition to my calendar. This is only the second meeting but they are a great idea for getting a few web developers/designers together in an informal enviroment. The meetings have a featured speaker(s) and are followed by a few drinks in a nearby pub (optional, but great for chatting afterwards). You do not need to be a member of WSG to attend.
For the 19th October meeting, book your place on Upcoming.org. See you there.
