Recently, I have discovered the Watchfire WebXACT service which allows you to check your website against a range of criteria including accessibility and quality guidelines.
I have used several other services like the W3C HTML validator and Total Validator for HTML validation, and Cynthia Says for accessibility checking - and Dreamweaver's HTML and accessibility tools are also very good. However, Watchfire WebXACT seems to perform a range of website checks and present them in an easily understandable report. In particular, it's very useful to see any errors explained and to be able to determine where the error occurred using an 'expand code fragment' link. I also like the fact that automated and manual accessibility checkpoints are separated in the report.
I guess that Watchfire WebXACT is a 'lead-in' to other Watchfire services but, nevertheless, it's a useful tool for web designers/developers.
