Health and fitness for the workplace

Occupational Synergy website screenshot We recently completed a website for Occupational Synergy which is a company that provides health and fitness consultancy and management for businesses of all sizes. The website styling was partly based on a newly designed logo and its colours and included the use of a number of stock images depicting 'health and fitness'.

As with most of our current websites, the text is designed to resize by 2 or 3 increments [larger or smaller] according to user requirements without 'breaking' the layout. It will 'break' eventually but we reckon that 2 or 3 steps in text size should be enough. We always set text sizes in % or ems which are relative units of measurement that allow for text resizing1 in most modern browsers.

I sometimes wonder about the usefulness of this because a lot of users do not know they can resize web page text sizes and stick with their default browser settings. However, in most cases, there's no reason not to do this if you can and website accessibility is much better when text size can be adjusted.

1 The Zoom facility in browsers like Internet Explorer 7 or Opera also provides text resizing capability but works differently.

A lovely design – great colour scheme and really good use of stock images.
