It’s often difficult to measure the success of any website search engine optimisation. Whilst you can implement conversion tracking tools for ecommerce websites and for search engine Ad campaigns, this is not always applicable for brochure-type websites.
There are a couple of ways of measuring search engine success and one indicator is often a comparison of website visitors before the optimisation started with the figures after a few months optimisation work. Of course, it’s also possible to monitor search engine listings by repeating a specific keyword search every month and checking the position of your website for that keyword.
You should probably do both but it’s essential to have a website stats package running on your web host before you can do the first of these. Its also a good idea to check your website visitors on a semi-regular basis. Website owners often come to us without any idea of how many web visitors they are getting or the stats package is not working or they have forgotten the web stats login.
You’ve paid for the website. Don’t forget about it!
