Improving your RSS feed

Posted in on 9 January 2006

Recently, we changed the RSS feeds on this blog to the Feedburner versions. Feedburner is a free service that provides optimisation services and greater user interactivity for RSS feeds. It also allows Google Ads to be added to your feed although we’re not planning to do that ourselves.

Our main reasons for signing up with Feedburner were:

  • Consolidation of RSS and Atom feeds into one feed
  • More publicity and a wider audience (perhaps)
  • A way of tracking subscriptions to the feed
  • A nice new RSS logo ;-)

So far so good. We’ll report back on our experiences in a few months.
