Problogger has published a good article explaining RSS feeds and web content syndication. In other words, pushing out web content to your website readers.
One of the points really struck a chord. The section called ‘Using RSS to Find New Content’ summarised our experience. It’s nigh on impossible to keep up with 100 or more favourite websites unless you subscribe to their RSS feeds and use a feed reader (eg FeedDemon, Firefox live bookmarks).
A few years ago, I spent many hours a week surfing from favourite website to website on a regular basis. Now, I open FeedDemon daily and my favourite websites are waiting for me in handy categorised form.
RSS. I call it really simple surfing.
