The Footwear Solutions ecommerce website, selling orthopaedic shoes for problem feet, was recently launched. The website was a collaborative effort between Your Footwear Solutions (product information) and CVW Web Design (ecommerce and web design).

The website was designed to fit with the current business identity and is partly based on existing print materials.

Things have been quiet on the blog front recently because we have been working on a few ecommerce websites for several clients.

We use an ecommerce web template which to some people sounds like an easy option. It is perhaps easy to imagine that a template will allow a store to be built in a day or less. That’s not really the case but the templates can allow rapid development of an online shop without too much hassle…..

Smartcraft ecommerce website

Recently, we have been collaborating on the Smartcraft website. The website is built round an ecommerce web template using PHP with a MySQL database.

Most of the product information work was completed by the shop owner but CVW Web Design provided web hosting, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Fireworks expertise with web template technical assistance as required.

Recent ecommerce website project

The KM Elite Products website has been recently completed using an ecommerce web template and integrating it into an existing website design. The main challenges involved were to ensure cross-browser compatibility with minimal changes to existing styles and to increase the use of style sheets.

The project also involved the creation of an admin area for order monitoring and the use of a customised admin area for adding product details.

Several websites are in progress at the moment including a couple of online shops using our ecommerce templates. Although the templates are only $150 (roughly £80) they can be customised and tweaked for each customer.

That’s why we like the templates and the shopping cart software that is included…
