Safari browser for Windows

I wrote this post a while back. The content can still be relevant but the information I've linked to may not be available.

One of the problems that any Windows-based web designer faces is how to test any newly created website on an Apple Mac and, in particular, with Apple's browser Safari. What do you do? There are various options including (i) the use of cross browser testing websites, for example SiteVista; (ii) asking your Apple Mac mates to look at the website; and (iii) ignore the issue if only a small % of your website visitors use Mac/Safari.

You could also take the view that testing in a web standards-based browser like Firefox will identify any significant problems...and, as a result, another web standards-based browser like Safari should be fine. I think I have used all these options at various stages!

Safari icon Now, these problems may be a thing of the past because Apple have announced a public beta version of Safari 3 for Windows XP and Vista. Cool!

I have downloaded the software and I'm looking forward to using Safari as one of my 'regular' browsers. I'll let you know how I get on as a Windows user with my new Apple software!
