Wild Blueberry

BlueberriesWild Blueberry provides management accountancy and business planning services for businesses in Sussex. For this particular website, I used a slightly different starting point for the website layout and, as a result, the final version includes some different design aspects to my 'usual'. Let me explain.

I try and work as efficiently as possible and for this reason I have a library of 'starting' website layouts on my system. A 'layout' is a combination of HTML page with associated style sheets. Many of these are created from scratch and they include some 'blank' layouts [a bare bones CSS layout], some that contain CSS layout elements that I think will be useful for future usage, and some layouts based on website templates. I am always looking to expand my library when I have spare time, to provide different layout starting points, and to learn different CSS techniques.....

Many of these starting layouts contain common elements or building blocks that can be transferred from one layout to another. I don't know if I would call these CSS/HTML snippets or library items or something else but it seems to me to be a sensible approach.

It is important to say that a starting layout is not a constraining factor and the client's requirements will clearly dictate the direction of the layout and design. But, these starting points are very useful, in my opinion.

Of course, a starting layout is great but there is still a lot of work to do before the finished website is ready for publication/approval.
