Podcasts for web designers and developers
I wrote this post a while back. The content can still be relevant but the information I've linked to may not be available.
I recently bought myself an iPod and, apart from the general all-round goodness of the iTunes experience, have discovered some entertaining and informative podcasts and, in particular, web designer and web developer podcasts. I must admit that this was one of the reasons for buying the iPod in the first place.
Of course, you don't actually need an iPod to listen to a podcast. Any computer will do but it feels more relaxing at the end of a hard day to lounge about with a beer whilst listening - rather than another hour sitting at the desk in the office. Here's three web designer-developer podcasts that I have discovered so far:
- .Net magazine. Probably the longest-running web magazine in the UK but the podcasts are only 22 episodes old. Recent episodes include a discussion about starting your own web design business and a group discussion about APIs.
- Boagworld. More chat, news and other web designer/developer items from Paul Boag and team.
- The Rissington Podcast. Web design luminaries John Oxton and Jon Hicks discuss all things web in a Q and A format from their base in Oxfordshire. This can be very funny and is probably unique among podcasts in having an RAF theme. Trust me, you have to listen to know what I mean.
If you have not yet discovered web designer podcasts, why not try these three for a start....
